9 April 19:30 @ The Driffold TR3 6PA
The first time I heard about Threshold Choirs - groups of singers getting together to sing very simple songs, with the intention of singing at the bedside of those at the threshold of life and death - I was inspired, and knew I wanted to sing with a group like this.
We’ve decided to call our group: Liminal We are a Threshold Choir based around Truro, Cornwall, meeting on the second and fourth Monday of each month with a CORE SONGS meeting each five week month for newcomers (and regulars too if they wish!)
We begin by lighting a candle and taking a few moments of silence and reflection. Then we warm up our voices, and learn some songs. Finally, one or more of us will have the beautiful experience of being wrapped in blankets, and being sung to.
We sing for people at the end of life, and at other thresholds, in twos and threes. If you or someone you love would welcome a visit from our singers, then contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 07964 721843
If you’re interested in singing with us, do come along. Please let me know if you’re planning to come so I can prepare for numbers.
There’s no charge, but and ability to hold a line of music, and a willingness to sing, or learn to sing, with love and compassions is essential.
Liminal: Core Songs

Reclaim Your Life!
Are you fed up with feeling unwell? Have you found that people say they can’t do anything for you?
If you’re ready to make some significant changes in your life, then this 3 day course, designed by the Reclaim Team, of which Julia is a founder member, could be your way forward.
Symptoms – Many, many people suffer from troublesome and distressing symptoms for which scans and blood tests cannot provide an explanation. In fact only half of all symptoms are caused by pathology such as cancer, allergies and infections. Those which cannot be explained in this way are called “functional symptoms”. Such symptoms are found in illnesses such as chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome. Functional symptoms such as pain are certainly not imaginary – they are very real and may be totally disabling, but are difficult to treat. Carers of people with functional symptoms often struggle to understand their illness. We hope that the information on our website will help.
The science – Functional illnesses are caused by a disturbance in the body (maybe following a viral infection or other illness) which becomes stuck in an inappropriate state. Research supports the use of methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and breathing retraining to show people how to alter their body state and bring the body and mind back into a healthy balance.
The intervention – The 3 x half day course integrates techniques including mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural coaching, NLP and breath work.
You might benefit from attending our programme, which is designed to enable you to:
Understand how you can control your mind and body to function more effectively Learn tools and techniques to reset mind and body balance Implement strategies to help you reclaim your health and wellbeing.
If you’d like to apply for a place on the next Reclaim Health course, e-mail email@example.com for an application form which you fill in and return to Julia. We then book an initial 1 hour coaching session at a cost of £50. If after the session we both decide the course is the right intervention for you, we offer you a place on the next course, and the initial coaching fee is deducted from the total cost. If we decide it’s not appropriate for you, Julia will give you some suggestions of ways forward that you could pursue.
What is the cost?

The Healing Journey
14 July @ Degibna Chapel Helston TR12 7PR
This is a one-day workshop suitable for ANYONE on a healing journey of any type. If we find ourselves in any situation where we feel disempowered, then we can consciously enter a healing journey.
When I’ve run this workshop before I’ve had great feedback from participants about its usefulness.
I use my own healing journeys of various types, and my years of working with others on their own healing journey as rich material.
You will come away with a plan for your own journey and a booklet of notes to support you.
Unusually, this workshop is being offered for a donation fee (with a minimum of £10 to cover costs). Usually a day’s workshop costs £75. So this is a wonderful opportunity to take this workshop at a cost that you can afford.
Bring packed lunch with you.
For further information about any of the workshops mentioned here, contact me either by phone or e-mail.
